The elevator is one of the more famous technology traps. In some buildings it is impossible to get around with out an elevator.
Unfortunately, we have all seen people stuck on elevators in movies. And some of us have even been lucky enough to experience this for ourselves. I myself have been stuck on an immobile elevator a few times.
